There are so many webinars related to cybersecurity, that seeing another with dire warnings is like “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” or perhaps like screaming FIRE in a movie theatre (when there is no fire).
It’s Armand here, RPost’s sporty armadillo product evangelist. While I am not much a fan of wolves (they eat armadillo) nor do I like brush or movie theatre fires, my point is, somehow one needs to know which cybersecurity webinars will have substance sufficient to guide you with some actions, and which are too fluff.
Well, here is one that is mission critical. This RPost webinar on November 19 provides need to know details on how to protect yourself and your organization. Click to register.
A hint of the substance – this webinar entitled, “The Anatomy (and Art of) a Ransomware Attack” will cover, among other details, how cybercriminals target cyber-insurance policy information and disaster recovery playbooks for specific purposes – and why these documents must be secured beyond normal encryption. They’ll share some practical tips.
More specifically, in this session, Zafar Khan, RPost CEO, along with technology expert Jason Thomas, CIO at Cole, Scott & Kissane, an AmLaw 200 and Florida's largest law firm, will share insights from the field, including mapping cybercriminal tactics that today’s most sophisticated and thoughtful cybercriminal cabals employ to optimize their ransomware financial crimes, from initial research through to maximizing chaos and ransom requests.
This session will showcase today’s cybercriminal creativity sharing specific approaches, and how they are powering up with GenAI. The session will reveal specific cybercriminal tactics and offer suggestions on how to mitigate risk with tools and defensive policies.
No false alarm calls of wolves or fires. Pure substance. Register here.
But, speaking of fires, I couldn’t help thinking about Cleveland Cavaliers. They have started the NBA basketball season off on FIRE (really on fire, no false alarms); remaining undefeated with a surprising 11-0 record which is a franchise record. With a young team led by Donovan Mitchell, it is very impressive that the team has achieved such highs. Finishing 48-34 last season, they are on pace to beat last season's record and look like serious contenders this year. With no real changes besides a new head coach during the off season, The Cavs are showing that chemistry within a team is important in order to be successful. Their main focus was to lock down their key players with contract extensions to create their own ‘superteam’ -- led by Evan Mobley, Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Jarrett Allen. These guys are the real deal down in Cleveland and it looks like they can finally become a threat to the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics, after having several average seasons since Lebron departed.
Speaking of Lebron, besides the fact that this dude is still playing and hasn’t retired yet even though he is turning 40 this NBA season, it is amazing that he gets to play with his son Bronny. Bronny, being drafted with the 55th pick in this past draft, he came to the Lakers ready to try and contribute as much as possible. Unfortunately for him though, his contributions were slim to none and has already been sent down to the G-league (minors). But, at least he is getting play time which is rare for a late second round draft pick. That time may have only been given so he can get on the court at the same time as his dad, but it was still a cool moment to see. A father-son duo in action together. Hopefully Bronny can improve a lot this season and find a role with the Lakers alongside his father.
Now that the highs have been talked about, there's one low in particular that stands out to me. The Bucks. From dominating the league and finishing top 3 for the past six seasons, to shutting down and starting the season second to last with a record of 2-8. Giannis is not having the season he anticipated. They are hoping that they can find something, even if it is trading for another key player, to turn their season around and they need to do it ASAP.
Now, back to FIRE and ASAP – if you don’t want your business to catch on FIRE (in a cybercriminal bad way), I recommend registering for the webinar I mentioned above, ASAP. I’d say seats are limited, but that’d make me like the armadillo who cried wolf 😉.
